Chalk Art 2010
Chalk Art 2010 - An Art Festival where artists, children and the community,
using only chalk, create original art in designated spaces on the pavement.
On Saturday, March 20th and Sunday March 21st join us off the Main Street at Mercato, across from AZN, to stroll the pedestrian art gallery and listen to the Blue Grass bands playing throughout
the day. Food and beverages will be available from various merchants on
Main Street. Stroll among the artists and vote for your favorite by buying tickets
from the Pelican Bay Rotary volunteers. The Peoples Choice Awards will be determined on Sunday afternoon. The Pelican Bay Rotary volunteers will also
be selling Souvenir T-Shirts.

PURE Urban Oasis, A Feast For The Senses
In the center of Mercato, there is an oasis, a refuge from everyday life that will relax your mind, rejuvenate your spirit, and replenish your body. PURE Urban Oasis promises to be a "feast for the senses", and is scheduled to open in early April 2010. The vision of award-winning chef and PURE Founder Peter Schmid, formerly of Peter's La Cuisine in Fort Myers, was to create a lifestyle brand - modern dining without excess. PURE Urban Oasis will serve reasonably priced American style food - familiar ingredients but with a new twist, says Schmid. Only two entrees are priced over $20, the rest are between $6 and $20. The 5,400 square foot restaurant will seat 185 in a combination of bar, booth and table seating, including al fresco seating on two patios.
The journey from midday to midnight and beyond will be conducted by a DJ playing music that "further enhances the Pure 'martini-bar' night lounge with down-tempo 'acid jazz' - and groovy house music in the later hours," explains Creative Director Christopher Fous. Call 239-514-PURE.
