In only a matter of days, three year old Charlie Mootispaw’s health went from a typical childhood fever and tiredness to a diagnosis of liver cancer. Charlie, the next recipient of NHN, will be introduced to the community at Mercato First Fridays on November 6.

In July, Charlie received a live-saving liver transplant at Jackson Memorial Hospital, in Miami. He is still undergoing chemo treatments that require travel to Miami and Fort Myers. And the bills continue to mount. Some $30,000 is hoped to be raised by local volunteers, but the cost of the organ transplant will likely exceed half a million

“Neighbors Helping Neighbors” (NHN) is an offshoot of iWannahelp.net, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization designed for charitable involvement by means of a comprehensive website. NHN will focus its efforts to raise awareness and funds for one individual each month who is in dire financial need due to medical expenses.

Also on tap at Silverspot Cinema is the Naples International Film Festival from November 6-8. To learn more, visit, www.mercatoshops.com.
